New Reinsurance Company (NewRe), a Swiss reinsurer and Munich Re subsidiary, has appointed Leonid Rousniak to the role of Senior Structurer, a Zurich based role.
Rousniak joins NewRe from SCOR, where he served for almost seven years.
He held a number of positions during his time with the global reinsurer, with his most recent one being as an Alternative Solutions Underwriter.
Prior to that role, he was an Alternative Solutions Marketing Actuary, whose role involved structuring, modelling and execution of tailor-made (re)insurance solutions for capital optimization, P&L volatility management and parametric gap covers for SCOR Global P&C insurance, corporate and captive clients worldwide.
Rousniak joins a property and casualty reinsurance company, who is also described as a leading underwriter of structured reinsurance solutions and an active reinsurer in the fields of insurance derivatives and parametric trigger covers.
The company also specialises in variable annuity reinsurance and capital management solutions for life business. According to its website, NewRe is considered a core company of Munich Re Group and combines exceptional financial strength with the efficiency and creativity of a medium-sized reinsurer.
