Liberty Mutual Investments (LMI), the investment firm for Liberty Mutual Group, has appointed Paschal Brooks into the newly created role of Managing Director (MD) and Head of Insurance Solutions & Capital Markets, effective 21 September 2026.
The firm’s Insurance Solutions & Capital Markets team sits within its Global Strategy & Capital Allocation business. The appointment aligns with LMI’s strategy to deepen the connection between its capital and risk capabilities.
In the new role, Brooks will lead LMI’s efforts to develop capital-efficient structures at the intersection of insurance and capital markets, partnering closely with Global Risk Solutions (GRS).
Brooks has over 25 years of experience in insurance and investment management, having most recently served at Aon Securities LLC as an MD focused on advising property and casualty re/insurance clients on securities issuance to manage risk, build strategic partnerships, and raise capital resources.
Before this, Brooks founded Sustain ILS Management LLC focused on the insurance-linked securities sector, served as Chief Executive Officer for AlphaCat Managers, Ltd., and began his career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs.
