Liberty Mutual Re has appointed Nick Noguera as a business development manager for the London Broker market.
The firm said that Noguera will report to Miguel Martinez Alvarez with what it calls ‘a dotted line’ to Max Mallen and the portfolio team that is based in London.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Noguera is based in the UK and has been working with Chaucer Group since June 2021 as a relationship manager. Before that, he spent a year working for SCOR in its London office after positions with Reinsurance Group of America and Munich Re.
There have been a few moves within Liberty Mutual in the last few days. The firm has this week already announced that Chantal Rodriguez was joining as CUO.
The appointment of Rodriguez follows the firm announcing at the beginning of the month two new underwriting leaders within Global Risk Solutions (GRS) Underwriting. Brandon Fick will join the company as North America chief underwriting officer and Nate Zangerle is named chief underwriting officer for global surety.
Not the most-exciting announcements, but the firm is still basking in its acquisition of Malaysian insurer AmGeneral, following regulatory approval and signing a purchase and sale agreement with AmBank.
The merged entity will enter into an exclusive 20-year partnership with AmBank to distribute general insurance products. Subsequently, AmGeneral and Liberty Insurance Berhad operations will merge, and is expected to become the largest auto insurer in Malaysia.
