Liberty Specialty Markets, a subsidiary of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has promoted Patrick Bravery to Head of Construction, LSM, London Markets, effective immediately.
Bravery will continue to report to Melanie O’Neill, Chief Underwriting Officer, LSM, London.
O’Neill commented on the promotion, “It is great to announce Patrick’s new role. He has been an integral part of our global construction offering; providing underwriting capability, technical expertise and thought leadership on behalf of LSM. I am confident that he will continue to go above and beyond to deliver the smartest solutions for Liberty, our brokers and clients around the world.”
In his new role, Bravery’s remit will include overseeing the London construction book. He will also work closely with product leaders across the regions to deliver a global offering that meets the needs of Liberty’s international client base.
Since joining Liberty, Bravery has partnered with tech start-ups, working groups and the wider civil engineering sector to better understand and find solutions for the changing nature of risk.
He has more than 22 years of underwriting experience, which places Bravery in a perfect position to ensure the resilience of Liberty’s construction book in the face of emerging risks, says the firm.
Bravery joined Liberty in 2015 as Head of Underwriting in the Global Civil Construction team, he has served as the Global Head of Civil Construction since 2019.
Before that Bravery spent ten years in the Construction sector, holding roles such as Class Underwriter at a Lloyd’s syndicate and as a Senior Underwriter at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.
