Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), a division of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has named Paul Sankey as its new Global Head of Oil & Gas, in addition to his role as Head of the Energy & Construction teams in London.
The promotion of Sankey, who has been with Liberty for 14 years, is effective immediate.
He joined the firm as a senior underwriter before becoming manager of the Oil & Gas team. In 2018, Sankey was promoted to Head of the Energy & Construction teams, and has spent 11 years working in the oil and gas industry.
In 2017, Sankey was elected Chairman of the Lloyd’s Market Association’s (LMA) Onshore Energy Business Panel.
LSM’s Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for Specialty, Mike Gosselin said: “Paul has been instrumental in growing the oil and gas portfolio into a market leading franchise. With his extensive knowledge of the energy sector, he is ideally placed to take on this broader position.
