The London & International Insurance Brokers Association (LIIBA) has announced that Alastair Swift, head of corporate risk and broking for global lines of business at WTW, as well as CEO of Willis Limited, will become its new chair.

Swift will succeed Aon’s Richard Dudley in taking on his new role.

Swift said: “This is a transformative moment for the world and the financial services sector. With Brexit receding slowly in our rear-view mirror, Covid’s impact still playing out, and the resultant changes in the geopolitical landscape, net zero, and now Ukraine, brokers are responding to a global economy in a state of flux.”

He added: “While Ukraine presents a set of immediate challenges, we must press ahead with our work on net zero, having accomplished much in the last two years. The House of Lords inquiry into commercial insurance and the regulation of the London market also remains high on our agenda.”

Swift has a lot on his plate. In addition to his new role, he was announced in December to be on the board of the London Market Group as an elected member representing LIIBA.
