Liz Garcia has joined Bermuda-based Aspen Insurance Group as Global Head of Property Reinsurance Claims, effective August 1.
She joins Aspen from Fidelis MGU, where she served as Head of Claims Bermuda for close to three years. Prior to that, she was Head of Claims at Berkley Re UK Limited for over two years.
Garcia also spent almost three years at Sydicate 2525, a specialist Employer’s and Third Party Liability Lloyd’s insurer, where she held the role of London Market Claims Manager.
Before that, she was part of XL Catlin, the global brand used by XL Group Ltd’s insurance and reinsurance subsidiaries. She served as Senior Claims Adjuster – Reinsurance for over three years.
She joined XL Catlin following five years as a self-employed consultant. During this time, she provided claims management and cost drafting services, consultancy and training to insurers and law firms.
Prior to that, Garcia also served at Garwyn Group as Head of Costs, and at LLCN Ltd as Associate Director.
Garcia’s hire has been one of Aspens’ most recent appointments. Some of them include John Welch’s as Chief Underwriting Office of Aspen’s reinsurance division, and Robert Tartaglia to the newly created position of SVP, Chief Operations Officer, Insurance.
