The Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA), the body representing the interests of managing agents and Lloyd’s brokers, has appointed Matthew Bellamy as Underwriting Director, who will join the body in late 2026.
In his new role, Bellamy will report to Sheila Cameron, Chief Executive Officer, LMA, and lead the LMA’s Underwriting team.
Additionally, he will play a critical role in working with the Corporation of Lloyd’s, LMA’s members and the Lloyd’s market, offering a unique and unparalleled contribution to influence change in the marketplace.
Most recently, Bellamy served at Ki, as the Chief Underwriting Officer and Active Underwriter of Ki Syndicate 1618.
Previously, he served as Director of Underwriting and Deputy UK Chief Underwriting Officer at The Fidelis Partnership. He began his career as a property treaty underwriter with Amlin.
Cameron commented on the appointment, “I am delighted to welcome Matthew to the LMA. Matthew’s underwriting knowledge and experience will be integral to delivering a better market for the underwriting community and to supporting the underwriting teams within our members, the managing and members’ agents. I look forward to him joining. His presence will further strengthen the LMA leadership team.”
