Lockton Re hires Bisset as Chairman, Global Retro

Reinsurance broker Lockton Re has added Robert Bisset as Chairman, Global Retrocession & Property Specialty, Bermuda and Market Capital, subject to regulatory approval.

As we explained previously, Lockton Re was set to appoint former Aon executive Bisset to a senior role, as it continued to build out its growing retrocessional reinsurance practice.

He joins a successful and active retro team at the reinsurance broker, which will be strengthened by his considerable reputation and market standing.

Most recently, Bisset served as Strategic Growth Leader for Aon Reinsurance UK, with a focus on driving business development across the company’s London-based global businesses in addition to his retro client responsibilities.

His career started with EW Blanch in 1994 in the U.S., before joining the EW Blanch Capital Markets division which took him to London in 1998. Four years later, he moved to Bermuda to assist in the creation of Benfield’s new Bermuda platform and later became CEO of Benfield, then Aon Benfield, Bermuda office.

In 2013, Bisset returned to London and ran Aon’s Global ReSpecialty team as CEO from 2014 to 2019.
