Lombard International rebrands to Axcelus Financial following BroadRiver acquisition

Lombard International US & Bermuda has announced that it is rebranding to Axcelus Financial after getting acquired by an affiliate of specialised asset management firm BroadRiver Asset Management, L.P.

2024-reinsurance-renewalsThe firm explained that as it embarks on a new chapter as Axcelus Financial, it will “continue to be a leader” in the private placement space and build upon its legacy of “providing innovative and customised insurance-based solutions” to its individual and institutional clients.

“Leveraging three decades of experience and trusted leadership in the industry, Axcelus Financial remains dedicated to understanding and delivering solutions to meet the unique needs and challenges of its clients,” the firm added.

Michael Farrell, the newly appointed CEO at Axcelus Financial, commented, “Axcelus Financial will be a thought leader and go-to partner for the insurance industry.

“We will accelerate our investment in innovative programs and leverage our 30 years of experience and excellent service to meet client expectations.”

Michael Farrell most recently served as the Executive Vice President at MetLife. He also served as Chairman, President and CEO of MetLife Insurance Company of Connecticut (formerly Travelers Life & Annuity Cos), General American Life Insurance Company, New England Financial, MetLife Investors, Tower Square Securities, Walnut Street Securities & MetLife Resources.

Axcelus Financial added that as part of its growth strategy, it plans to strengthen its commitment to flexible and collaborative partnerships with insurance and asset management professionals, and also expand its product and service features, and invest in its employees, technology, and operations.
