Bermuda-based re/insurer AXIS Capital Holdings Limited has announced that both Christopher V. Greetham and Wilhelm Zeller are to retire from the company’s board of directors, effective December 31st, 2020.
Greetham has served on the board of AXIS Capital since October of 2006, while Zeller joined the company’s board of directors in July of 2009.
Despite the retirement of two long-time members of the firm’s board, AXIS notes that since 2018, it has added five new directors to its board.

“Their wisdom and knowledge have made AXIS a stronger company, as over the years we have particularly benefited from Willie’s deep reinsurance expertise and Chris’ expansive knowledge in the finance and risk arenas.”
Albert Benchimol, AXIS Capital’s President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), said: “I want to express my deep appreciation to Chris and Willie for all of their contributions, insights and counsel over many years. Chris and Willie’s leadership on the Board will be greatly missed, and I am deeply grateful for their significant contributions.”
