MacColl joins JLT Re from Guy Carpenter as Head of Credit and Surety, NA

JLT Re (North America), a subsidiary of the global provider of reinsurance broking and consultancy, has appointed Scott MacColl as Head of Credit and Surety for North America.

Scott MacCollIn addition to his role in North America, MacColl is expected to work closely with global teams to help build out the Credit and Surety practice area for JLT Re.

The appointment of MacColl is aimed at reinforcing and strengthening JLT Re’s global Credit and Surety practice.

MacColl brings over 30 years’ experience in the field and joins from reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter, where he was Managing Director for the Surety Specialty group.

Prior to that, he was Vice President at American Re (now Munich Re America), responsible for managing and growing the Surety, Fidelity, Trade Credit, and Political Risk product lines.

“We are thrilled to have Scott join JLT Re,” said Ed Hochberg, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), JLT Re (North America).

“His primary insurance, reinsurance, and broking experience, along with his involvement in North American and international markets, creates a unique knowledge base that will benefit existing and potential clients, and reinforces the strength of our global Credit and Surety team.”

Commenting on his appointment, MacColl said, “I am looking forward to joining JLT Re and collaborating with the team to build out the Credit and Surety risk management practice into the best in class intermediary, as recognised by insurers and risk management professionals.”
