MNRB Holdings Bhd (MNRB) has promoted Ahmad Noor Azhari Abdul Manaf to the roles of President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Malaysian Reinsurance Bhd (Malaysian Re) effective April 1, 2023.
MNRB is the holding company of Malaysian Re.
The company confirmed that Noor Azhari assumes the role from Zainudin Ishak whose contract expires on April 1, 2023.
Overall, Noor Azhari brings three decades of industry experience towards his new roles. For the past seven years, he has been with Malaysian Re. Currently, he serves as the firm’s Chief Underwriting Officer, a position he assumed in December 2021.
During his time as CUO of Malaysian Re, Noor Azhari led the underwriting business across the Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and North America markets.
Before he joined Malaysian Re in 2016, Noor Azhari served as the principal officer of middle-eastern reinsurer Kuwait Re’s regional office for the Far East.
Moreover, Malaysian Re Chairman George Oommen, states that the board of the company places value in the long-standing commitment that Noor Azhari has shown to the company.
He said: “He has held various leadership positions over the course of his career with the company and has been instrumental in shaping the company’s growth and innovation throughout his tenure.
“We are confident that the combination of his skills and leadership experience will further drive the success of Malaysian Re’s domestic and international businesses.”
MNRB President and group CEO Zaharudin Daud, added: “He has always demonstrated strong enthusiasm and drive and given his familiarity of Malaysian Re and its business strategy, we believe he will be able to spearhead the company as well as delivering service excellence to our customers and partners.”
