Global insurance company MAPFRE’s assistance division, MAWDY, has partnered with Italian insurer VITTORIA ASSICURAZIONI to provide assistance services to the Italian market.

Under the agreement, both companies will hold 50% of the shares in a newly-formed entity.

Both MAPFRE and VITTORIA ASSICURAZIONI have been working together since 2011.

The partnership will target B2B2C agreements, selling solutions to its corporate partners.

According to a statement released by MAPRE, during the early stages, the activity will focus on providing personal and vehicle assistance services, but it eventually aims to expand this offering to include other assistance services during a second phase.

Innovation will be one of the key drivers of the value proposition which will be delivered through the design of digital solutions adapted to the needs of the partners, multichannel communication with the customer, as well as other aspects.

Additionally, the agreement also includes the appointment of Gian Paolo Aliani Soderi as general manager, who currently serves as MAWDY’s general manager in Italy (MAPFRE Asistencia Branch and MAPFRE Warranty).

After signing the agreement, the new company will be constituted once the transaction has been authorized by the European Union competition authorities.

Further, this agreement will also enable for VITTORIA ASSICURAZIONI to distribute its offer to existing and new clients by providing assistance services in an innovative manner based on the extensive experience of its partner.
