Markel International has hired Alex Holcroft from Sompo Canopius as Political Risk Underwriter based in Singapore, and reporting to Senior Underwriter in London, Nicola Marriage.
Holcroft will form part of the company’s existing trade credit and political risk team serving the Asia-Pacific region.
The team of four is led by Abhishek Chhajer, Senior Underwriter, who established the firm’s trade credit operations in the region.
In his new role Holcroft will be tasked with expanding Markel’s political risk and structured trade credit operations.
He joins the firm from Sompo Canopius where he was most recently an underwriter within its political risk and structured trade credit division, and was previously a Lloyd’s of London graduate trainee.
