Markel Corporation subsidiary, Markel International Singapore, has announced the appointment of Gustaf Kristiansson as a marine underwriter, based in the firm’s Singapore office, reporting to Matt Cannock.
Kristiansson moves from the company’s Sweden office, where he was a marine underwriter, to hold the same position in Singapore for the specialist insurer and reinsurer. Before working for Markel in Sweden, he worked in Dubai for Gulf Agency Co., and brings more than a decade of shipping and marine insurance experience and expertise to the role.
In his new role he will be responsible for managing Markel’s marine hull and cargo portfolio across the Asia-Pacific region.
Commenting on the appointment Cannock, Principal Officer & Managing Director, Markel International Singapore, said; “We are very excited to have Gustaf join us in Asia. It’s really important that we continue to be a marine market of choice across Asia Pacific and Gustaf will be key in delivering that.”
