Marsh has named former Director of the National Cyber Crime Unit at the National Crime Agency (NCA), Jamie Saunders, as new strategic adviser on cyber risk management for UK specialist cyber security within the Client Advisory Services division.
In his newly-created London based role, Dr Saunders will provide strategic cyber security and risk management advice to Marsh’s clients.
Commenting on Dr Saunders’ appointment, Mark Weil, CEO of Marsh UK & Ireland, said; “We’re delighted to have Jamie join the team. His practical experience in dealing with cyber threats and their consequences will be invaluable to our clients as we help them get to grips with cyber risk.”
Jamie Saunders added; “Marsh is at the forefront of thinking how firms should address and manage cyber risk. I look forward to developing the firm’s cyber security consultancy services and working with Marsh’s clients to further improve their resilience against cyber attacks.”
Before joining the NCA, he was Director of International Cyber Policy for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. He began his career in 1988 at GCHQ, the UK Government’s intelligence and security organisation.
Dr Saunders’ appointment follows the appointment of Sir Iain Lobban, formerly Director of GCHQ, as a senior adviser, cyber risk, in 2016, and marks Marsh’s commitment to expanding its cyber lines.
