Marsh & JLT fully integrate Indonesian operations

Another next step in the continued integration of JLT and Marsh has now completed, with PT Jardine Lloyd Thompson Indonesia now fully merged into PT Marsh Indonesia, effective February 3rd, 2020.

Marsh Indonesia The integration expands Marsh in the region by combining the strength and expertise of the two firms into one brokerage. Since the creation of Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) in 2011, this is the first time two multinational insurance brokers have merged in the country.

Marsh acquired JLT on April 1st, 2019 and this legal entity merger marks another step towards the full integration of JLT into Marsh. The merger of the companies’ Indonesia operations has completed following recent approval by Indonesia’s OJK.

Douglas Ure, President Director, PT Marsh Indonesia, commented: “Today we embark on a new journey as an integrated insurance broker and risk adviser. Marsh has been operational in Indonesia for 36 years through its regional operation, while JLT has been operational in the country for more than 40 years.

“As one integrated company, we have now moved into new building in a smart office environment. All colleagues have been equipped with the necessary tech equipment where colleagues can collaborate across teams, engage with clients both physically and virtually, and work flexibly from wherever there’s Wi-Fi,” added Ure.
