Global reinsurer Swiss Re has announced the launch of a new Group Broker Management Practice, to be led by Matthias Meyenhofer as Group Broker Executive.

The new practice is a dedicated unit designed to centralise the management of relationships with primary brokers and intermediaries for the Swiss Re Group.

By aligning broker integrations across its Group level and its three core business segments – Property & Casualty Reinsurance, Corporate Solutions, and Life & Health Reinsurance – Swiss Re aims to bolster strategic engagement, foster deeper collaboration, and improve service standards throughout the organisation.

Meyenhofer, who will step into his new role in July 2026, will be responsible for strengthening strategic broker relationships and driving greater alignment across Swiss Re’s businesses.

With over 23 years of industry experience, the executive brings extensive experience to his new position, as well as a proven track record in advancing successful partnerships.

In late 2022, the reinsurer established a broker-dedicated Key Account Management team, and appointed Meyenhofer to lead. He joined Swiss Re in 2020 as Head Large P&C Transactions Continental Europe.

“Our new Group Broker Management Function will enable us to deliver greater value to our broker partners,” said Andreas Berger, Group CEO, Swiss Re.
