Swiss Re, one of the world’s largest reinsurers, has announced it is setting up a new broker-dedicated Key Account Management team to be led by Matthias Meyenhofer.
According to the announcement, this team will play a pivotal role in helping to sustain and expand relationships with Swiss Re’s top producing reinsurance brokers.
Meyenhofer will report to Gianfranco Lot, Head of Global Reinsurance, who said: “With over 19 years of industry experience and his proven track record in advancing successful partnerships, Matthias will help us to strengthen our shared strategic growth initiatives while meeting the needs of our mutual clients. Join me in wishing him every success.”
In 2020, Meyenhofer joined Swiss Re as Head Large P&C Transactions Continental Europe, a role he held for over two years.
Before joining Swiss Re, he was consulting and advising entities in the reinsurance space, prior to which he spent a short stint as the CEO of Aon Reinsurance Solutions Bermuda operation.
Prior to that, Meyenhofer worked at reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter in Zurich, as its Head of Global Partners, before which he worked at Chubb’s ACE Tempest Re and AXIS Capital in Zurich in P&C reinsurance underwriting roles.
The news of Meyenhofer appointment and the creation of a new broker-dedicated Key Account Management team comes after Swiss Re revealed it has proposed changing the makeup of its board, nominating Vanessa Lau and Pia Tischhauser for election as new members.
