Accounting and advisory firm MHA, the UK and Ireland member of the Baker Tilly international network, has announced the appointment of Ahmer Khan as its new head of Insurance for the UK.
In addition to this, Khan will also become the leader of the financial services practice for Baker Tilly Ireland.
Serving financial services clients both in the UK and Ireland, the executive will head up the Insurance practice in the UK and also service the banking audit clients in the country.
In Ireland, he will focus on insurance, asset management and capital market clients.
Joining the company from EY Ireland, Khan brings with him over 20 years of assurance and consulting experience across the financial services sector with expertise in insurance, banking, asset management and capital markets.
During his 13 years at EY Ireland, he led audit and consulting projects for large clients, including insurers, banks, asset managers and mutual/hedge funds.
Prior to this, he spent 12 years with KPMG, working across Jersey, Dublin, and London. His expertise covers technical accounting, corporate governance, complex investment valuations, implementation of IFRS 9 at large banks and IFRS 17 in the insurance sector.
