Midwest Holding has named Eric N. Berg as its new senior vice president and CFO.
Most recently, Berg was CFO of Aviva India, a New Delhi-based insurer and asset manager. He is a CFA charterholder and has the CFA Institute’s certificate in investment performance designation. He is also active in numerous professional groups, including the CFA Society of New York and the Society of Actuaries.
Georgette C. Nicholas, CEO of Midwest Holding, said: “We are pleased to have Eric Berg join Midwest. Eric brings extensive experience and knowledge of the investor market and insurance industry. His business acumen and diverse experience will add strong leadership to our efforts to drive growth and enhance shareholder value.”
Berg’s appointment comes less than half a year after Nicholas accepted the CEO position at Midwest Holding. In doing so, she succeeded former co-CEO Michael Salem.
Nicholas was previously Midwest Holding’s president and CFO. She continued to serve as interim CFO until today’s announcement that the position is to be filled by Berg. It was also announced in November that John T. Hompe had been appointed as non-executive chair of the board at Midwest Holding.
