Miller adds Paula Smith to Political Violence and Terrorism team

16th April 2021 - Author: Katie Baker

Re/insurance broker Miller has appointed Paula Smith to join its Political Violence and Terrorism team within Property and Casualty Facultative Reinsurance.

MillerSmith brings over 25 years’ experience in the insurance industry, and was most recently Head of Political Violence and Terrorism at GC FAC.

Her appointment is Miller’s latest investment in the reinsurance space, and follows the recent hiring of James Power as Exposure Analytics Lead and the announcement that Miller will be expanding its reinsurance presence through the opening of a new Bermuda office.

Mike Papworth, Head of Property and Casualty at Miller, commented: “Paula’s depth of knowledge in the Political Violence and Terrorism markets, as well as her experience in managing global portfolios of business, makes her a great addition to the team here at Miller.

“Reinsurance is one of our key growth areas, and Paula’s hiring particularly strengthens our Terrorism Reinsurance offering. At Miller, we pride ourselves on our deep industry knowledge and our ability to leverage long-standing market relationships to obtain the right cover on favourable terms. Paula’s hiring strengthens our team’s ability to continue doing just that.”
