Independent specialist re/insurance broker Miller has appointed Elizabeth McGonagle as Head of Power, Asia Pacific, a role based in Singapore effective January 2025.

Before this, she spent seven years at Wills Towers Watson, chiefly as Division Director for natural resources, power and renewables in Asia.

Miller observed that McGonagle’s appointment represents the next step in the company’s ongoing growth in the power sector and aligns with its broader strategy to expand Energy, Power, and Construction capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region.

Matthew Hooker, Head of Energy & Marine – Asia Pacific, at Miller, and to whom McGonagle will report, commented, “We are seeing strong demand for the specialist expertise that we have built in Asia, and I am delighted to enhance this with Liz’s experience and passion.

“As a leading figure in the Asia power market, her decision to join us is a testament to the team we are growing and further strengthens our ability to offer clients tailored solutions.

“The Asia power industry presents strong growth opportunities in the coming years, particularly as the economy transitions from conventional fuels to low carbon and carbon-free energy generation; something that Liz is extremely well-placed to help clients navigate.”

McGonagle added, “I’m excited to take on the role of Head of Power at Miller, bringing my expertise to an already exceptional team.

“The Asia Pacific region presents immense opportunities for growth and innovation, and with Miller’s strong reputation and growing momentum, I look forward to building on this success and helping clients confidently navigate these challenges and opportunities”
