MS Amlin names Martin Burke as permanent CUO

MS Amlin, the Lloyd’s global insurer and reinsurer, has announced that Martin Burke has been appointed as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) on a permanent basis.

Burke took up the role as interim CUO in October last year, having previously served in several senior roles since joining the business in 2012.

Over the course of his career so far at MS Amlin, Burke has served as Director & Chief Risk Officer (CRO), Deputy Group CRO, Director of Group Underwriting, Director of Underwriting Services, and Director of Underwriting Performance – MS Amlin Underwriting Ltd.

Before he joined MS Amlin, Burke spent over five years at Catlin, working in a number of different leadership roles.

In a statement, MS Amlin said: “Together with the broader executive team, Martin has been instrumental in our recent return to significant profitability and will continue to drive the underwriting strategy as we expand our capacity in the Lloyd’s market.”
