Cyber insurance provider, Coalition has announced that John Wynne Davies has joined the company as its first Special Projects Lead in the UK.

Having previously served as MS Amlin’s Strategy Manager for Lloyd’s, in his new role, Wynne Davies will be responsible for developing and implementing Coalition’s strategy in the UK, which will include building out the MGA’s UK trading platform.

Coalition has also confirmed that he will report to Australia-based Adam Robertson, Coalition’s International Head of Special Projects.

An experienced veteran across the industry, Wynne Davies has previously worked for a number of different firms. This includes a previous stint at Aspen Insurance Holdings where he served as a Senior Strategy Analyst.

Addressing his appointment, Wynne Davies said: “I’m thrilled to join the team and help deliver our mission to protect the unprotected as the world digitises. Coalition is increasingly pushing the boundaries of growth and reinventing how the industry adds value for policyholders to protect the value of their business and help them remain resilient in the face of dynamic and pervasive digital risks. The company’s Active Insurance offers a true differentiator to the market and is a driving force for change in the industry.”

Moreover, Wynne Davies’ appointment marks the latest in a series that has seen the new entrant to the UK cyber insurance market’s headcount more than double over its first 11 months of trading.

A variety of staff have joined from a range of businesses, including CFC Underwriting.

Tom Draper, Coalition’s UK Head of Insurance, added: “The feedback we’re getting from staff is that Coalition is a very attractive proposition for professionals wanting to grow their careers in the cyber insurance market. Because many of our people and approaches come from the tech sector, staff tell us they can learn more, learn it faster, and apply it to new products and markets.”
