Switzerland-based reinsurer MS Reinsurance has hired Lisa Butera from Swiss Re to serve as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for North America (NA), and has also expanded Lucas Castagnino’s role to CUO for Latin America and Caribbean.
Butera brings more than three decades of leadership experience across insurance and reinsurance markets to MS Re. She joins from Swiss Re, one of the world’s largest reinsurance companies, where she most recently served as Managing Director, Head of FinPro and Casualty, North America, Corporate Solutions.
Castagnino, who joined MS Re in 2016 and currently serves as Head of Latin America and Caribbean, has been named CUO for Latin America and Caribbean, a move which broadens his role and elevates the region in the company’s business.
He has thirty years of experience and strong track record of leadership, and MS Re expects Castagnino to continue to drive its goals across Latin American markets.
