Malte Obbel Forsberg, formerly of Bermuda-based RenaissanceRe, has been appointed as the Head of Reserving at MS Reinsurance.
The role is effective starting September and will be based out of Zurich.
Forsberg joins from RenaissanceRe, where he served for more than four years in various senior positions. He held the position of Vice President of Corporate Risk for more than two years.
Prior to that he also served in the position of Assistant Vice President of Corporate Risk, a role he continued post the acquisition of TMR.
In both roles, he headed the External Capital Models Working Group and was responsible for S&P, AM Best, SST, BSCR (Bermuda), US RBC etc. across the RenRe group.
Throughout his career, Forsberg has worked in several senior positions such as Assistant Vice President, ERM at Tokio Millennium Re AG and Manager at KPMG Switzerland.
Forsberg started his career at Zurich Insurance Company Ltd and worked there for a period of 14 years. Starting as an intern and then as an External Capital Model Analyst. Subsequently, he also served as a Pricing Actuary, finally making his way as a Senior Reserving Actuary.
