Munich Re announces changes to its North America executive team leadership

Munich Re has announced the appointment of Bernard Naumann to President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the reinsurer’s Canada (Life) division as well as additional changes to its North America team leadership.

In his new role, Naumann will develop the Canadian reinsurance business strategy for Canada and the Caribbean.

He previously worked as Senior Vice President of Individual Reinsurance in 2007, before being appointed to Senior Vice President of Reinsurance, overseeing all business lines in 2016.

Richard Letarte has been appointed to President and CEO of Munich Re’s New Ventures, where he’s set to lead innovation initiatives to invest in new technologies and develop new products and services.

In 2016, Letarte acted as Senior Vice President of Innovation for the Canadian Life business.

Other appointments within the North America executive team include Lloyd Milani – appointed to Chief Risk Officer (CRO), where he’ll be responsible for enterprise risk management and the North American Health insurance and reinsurance business.
