Munich Re Specialty Insurance, the global reinsurer’s specialty property and casualty (P&C) insurance unit in North America, has announced the appointment of Jim Wallace as Head of Property for Excess & Surplus (E&S) Lines.
Wallace joins Munich Re from Navigators, where he most recently served as President of the Property Excess and Surplus Line Division.
He has more than 30 years’ experience in the re/insurance industry, and has previously held a number of senior executive roles at several insurance companies.
Positions have included Senior Vice President and Director of Property Underwriting, Vice President and Regional Managing Director, and Regional Vice President.
In his new role, Wallace joins a team that includes Diane Link, who joined that company earlier this year as Head of Casualty, Excess & Surplus Lines.
Both Wallace and Link report to Jill Beggs, President of Excess & Surplus Lines, Munich Re Specialty Insurance.

In the past, Link was the Head of Excess & Surplus Casualty insurance for North America at Swiss Re, where she previously held additional leadership roles as Global Head of Casualty Facultative Product Management and Head of Middle Market Excess Casualty.
