Munich Re Syndicate, the Lloyd’s of London Marine & Specialty underwriter of reinsurance giant Munich Re, has appointed Natasha Jodrell as its new Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) and as a member of its Executive Committee, effective May 1st, 2020.
In her new role, Jodrell will be based in London and will be tasked with supporting the underwriting functions of the Syndicate as well as assisting in the development of International Distribution Companies of Munich Re Specialty Group Limited.
She has been with Munich Re Syndicate for 27 years, having started her career in underwriting on the Energy Account and since 2105, has served as Head of Exposure Management where she has led the catastrophe modelling team and reinsurance team.
In addition, she has had responsibility for placing the Outwards Reinsurance Programme for the entire Syndicate and managing the quarterly reserving process.
Jodrell takes over from Simon Parnell who is set to begin retirement after 21 years with the Syndicate. Munich Re Syndicate has thanked Parnell for his “exceptional contributions” to the firm and notes that he will continue to be the Head of Marine until July 1st, 2020.
