Munich Reinsurance America, Inc. (Munich Re, US) has announced Adam Edelstein as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of a new commercial insurance division in North America, Munich Re Specialty Insurance.
Edelstein joins the firm from a boutique insurance-focused consultancy and will report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Munich Re Specialty Insurance, Mike Kerner.
In this role, he will be responsible for the buildout of an effective structure to support the firm’s growth plans, while driving business operations efficiency to help the company reach its targets.
“We are very pleased to welcome Adam to this new leadership role. His experience in overseeing complex business operations, technology, and strategy are important assets as we unify and grow our primary specialty commercial insurance business.
“Adam will work closely with me to provide leadership, management, and vision for Munich Re Specialty Insurance,” said Kerner.
He has previously worked as the COO of a specialty insurer that experienced significant growth during his tenure, and has held a number of other senior operational roles in the re/insurance industry.
