Munich Re’s insurer HSB names non-executive board members

HSB Engineering Insurance (HSB) has appointed Jeff Herdman and Craig Scarr as new non-executive directors of the company, which is owned by reinsurance giant Munich Re.

HSB LogoHerdman, who is currently non-executive director appointments at the Swansea Building Society and Tasker Insurance Group, is to become an independent non-executive director and Chairperson of the Board at HSB.

Scarr has been appointed as an independent non-executive director and Chair of HSB’s Finance, Audit and Risk Committee. He is currently a non-executive director at Tokyo Marine HCC and the United States Automobile Association.

HSB’s Managing Director, Stephen Worrall, said of the appointments: “Both Jeff and Craig have admirable reputations in the industry and their experience will make a significant contribution to the business.  We are delighted to welcome them to HSB.”

Herdman has over 35 years’ experience in senior management roles at Oval Group and Willis, and specialises in insurance and customer strategy, while Scarr spent 28 years as UK Head of Insurance at Mazars and offers expertise in governance, risk, internal controls and insurance.
