NFP adds Seth Michaelson to Energy practice

Property and casualty broker NFP, has appointed Seth Michaelson to the Energy practice within NFP’s Specialty business.

As vice president, Energy and Marine, Michaelson will be reporting to Vilma Vanegas, senior vice president, practice leader, Energy; and he will be supporting the ongoing growth of NFP’s specialty practice.

According to the announcement, while energy and marine will be his main focus, he will also work with NFP’s real estate and construction specialty practices to leverage the deep relationships he has cultivated in those industries.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Seth to NFP as we continue to build a team of talented and experienced professionals,” said Vanegas. “Seth’s background working with corporate and middle-market clients, providing insight on mergers and acquisitions, evaluating complicated insurance placements, and navigating complex property and business interruption claims makes him a valued resource to our industry clients.”

With more than 13 years of industry experience, he brings specialised insurance expertise across the upstream and midstream energy sector, NFP noted.

Recently he has served as managing director at Catto & Catto, a division of HUB International of Texas, Inc.

Prior to this, he held a variety of brokerage, risk management and business development roles with several organisations, including Wortham Insurance and WTW.
