Ryan Specialty has announced that Paradiso Risks is joining its sports, leisure and entertainment (SLE) managing general underwriter (MGU), Alive Risk.
Paradiso, an MGU specialising in contingency and non-appearance insurance, became a part of the firm through the acquisition of Castel Underwriting Agencies on May 1st, 2024.
Founded in 2022, Paradiso is an underwriter of contingency insurance in the event cancellation and non-appearance vertical for risks in the U.S., U.K., and continental Europe.
The Paradiso team brings a wealth of experience with over 35 years combined in actuarial, underwriting, and broking expertise.
Patrick Gavin, Managing Director of Alive Risk, expressed his enthusiasm about welcoming the Paradiso team to Alive Risk.
He stated that Paradiso’s expertise in contingency, strong carrier relationships, and excellent reputation in the entertainment and live music sector would enable Alive Risk to expand their contingency offerings internationally.
The contingency portfolio will be divided into underwriting and producing segments. The underwriting division, Gavin explained, is to be led by Yael Mimran and operate under the Paradiso brand.
Additionally, the newly created contingency producing division will be led by Lowery Robinson and operate under the Alive Risk brand.
