PartnerRe hires Ruparelia as Chief Actuarial and Risk Officer

Bermuda-based PartnerRe has appointed Sima Ruparelia as Chief Actuarial and Risk Officer.

PartnerReShe will join the reinsurer on June 27, 2022.

Within this role, Ruparelia will be based in London, and will report to PartnerRe’s President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jacques Bonneau, as a member of the Company’s Executive Leadership Team.

As Chief Actuarial and Risk Officer, Ruparelia will be responsible for Risk and Capital, Non-Life Reserving and Pricing and Life Reserving (2nd Line).

Previously, she held the role of Chief Actuary and Portfolio Manager for UK, Europe, Global Specialty and Talbot, the Europe legal entity for AIG, from 2016 – 2021.

Before that, she served as Group Actuary for Catlin and as UK Chief Actuary for XL Catlin, and also held actuarial positions at multinational professional services network, Ernst and Young, as well as Equitas and Pinnacle Insurance.

Addressing Ruparelia’s appointment, Bonneau said: “This position represents functions that play an important role in both our business and strategic decision-making and I am pleased to welcome a risk and actuarial professional with Sima’s experience.

“She brings more than 20 years of expertise in the P&C insurance industry and her track record in leading and shaping large and complex pricing and reserving strategies make her an excellent fit for this role.”
