PartnerRe names Nicolas Georgy P&C EMEA, Chief Underwriting Officer

International reinsurer, PartnerRe, has appointed Nicolas Georgy as Chief Underwriting Officer – Property, in the P&C Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) department.

PartnerReGeorgy started his reinsurance career at PartnerRe, he joined the company for the first time in 2001 as a junior underwriter in the Catastrophe department. In 2006 he became Senior Underwriter, a role he held for close to two years before leaving the company in 2008.

He was responsible for the catastrophe business for France, Belgium, Scandinavia and Asia (including Japan), and worked on contracts from the United States, Caribbean Islands, Greece, Cyprus, Latin America and East Europe.

Georgy has now accumulated over 20 years of experience in the industry. Prior to rejoining PartnerRe, he held several positions at Swiss Re, where he worked for over 14 years.

He spent over six years in Swiss Re’s Beijing office, and in 2011 took the lead of the Greater China and South Korea property treaty team. In 2014 he became Director, EMEA Property Treaty Portfolio, and started working on establishing a strong portfolio management for the EMEA property treaty.

His most recent position was as Director, Health Property treaty South Europe & MEA.

Georgy took to LinkedIn to share the news of he new position. He said: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting today a new position as Chief Underwriting Officer Property in the P&C EMEA department at PartnerRe.”
