Hong Kong domiciled reinsurer, Peak Reinsurance Company Limited, has announced the addition of Sascha Bruns, previously of Hannover Re, as Director, Global Head of Retrocession, effective September 1st, 2021.
In his new role, Bruns will lead the design and implementation of the company’s retro strategy for its global Property & Casualty businesses.
Based in Hong Kong, Bruns will report to Peak Re’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Franz Josef Hahn.
“Sascha’s background makes him a great fit for this newly created role. He has a keen understanding of the traditional covers as well as capital market securitisation,” said Hahn.
“With his network of retrocessionaires, reinsurers, brokers as well as alternative capital providers, I am confident that he will be a great addition to our team and a key contributor to the development of our retro strategy.”
Bruns joins the firm from Hannover Re, where he worked for almost 20 years and most recently served as Senior Underwriter & Deputy Head of Group Protections.
He brings experience in analysing, structuring, placing and administrating natural catastrophe retro programmes to his new role.
