Australian-headquartered re/insurer, QBE Insurance Group Limited has announced the appointment of Peter Wilson as a Non-Executive Director to the Group Board, effective 1 September.
Wilson is an accomplished insurance executive and business leader with over four decades of experience, having served most recently as Chief Executive Officer of Axis Insurance, from 2013 to 2022, and prior to that was President of US Insurance.
Prior to that, he served at CNA Insurance for more than 20 years, including as President and Chief Operating Officer for CNA before joining Axis.
He also served as Executive Vice President, Global Specialty Lines; Senior Vice President; and VP, Commercial and Non-for-profit D&O.
Before CNA, Wilson also served as Executive Vice President at AIG, where he managed the commercial public D&O business in the US for three years.
QBE has also most recently announced the appointment of Hannah Farrer Fisher as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Equator Re and Blue Ocean Re, subsidiaries of QBE.
The insurer has also shared the news of James Haggerty’s promotion, who has been with QBE for 25, to Head of Commercial Programs.
