PwC appoints London Market Insurance leader

Global insurance, reinsurance, advisory and tax consultancy PwC has appointed Paul Delbridge – a Partner of the firm with 30 years experience in insurance and reinsurance – to London Market Insurance leader.

Paul Delbridge, PwCIn his new role Delbridge will be responsible for the Lloyd’s, London Market company, and major broker markets’ audit, tax and advisory services and activities.

He will be replacing Jim Bichard – who has moved into leadership of PwC’s UK insurance practice.

Delbridge commented: “I am very excited about taking on this role within our practice. Despite facing tough trading conditions, the London Market continues to be very dynamic, with modernisation, innovation, diversity and disruption all high on the agenda.

“I look forward to the challenge of ensuring that PwC offers the very best of our thinking, expertise and experience to our clients, and am looking to build on the very strong platform that Jim has built over the last four years.”

In his 30 years with PwC, Delbridge gained extensive experience in underwriting and pricing, ERM and Solvency II, mergers and acquisitions, audits, cost reduction, performance management and data and analytics.

Jim Bichard, UK insurance leader at PwC, said; “Paul brings a fantastic wealth of experience and is ideally suited to developing and innovating how we work with our London Market and broking clients in the future.”

Bichard added the London Market was hugely important for PwC’s insurance practice as a space where the firm has continued to grow and establish a leading presence in assurance, deals, tax and advisory services.
