QBE Re has bolstered it’s Bermuda team with the appointment of Carmen DeSilva as Vice President, Specialty Underwriter, effective immediately.
Overall, she brings more than 15 years of industry expertise towards her new role.
Throughout her career, DeSilva has worked across Property and Specialty underwriting in Bermuda.
She joins QBE Re following 11 years of service at AXIS Capital, where she held a variety of different roles, including Strategic Management Coordinator & Head of Property Runoff, Senior Business & Portfolio Manager, and VP of Underwriting.
In addition, DeSilva also previously served in a number of different roles at Platinum Underwriters, including AVP Underwriting,
In her new role, DeSilva will help build out QBE Re’s Bermuda Specialty reinsurance capabilities, as well as also help to develop QBE Re’s global specialty offering in addition to the QBE Re franchise with cedants and brokers.
QBE Re has confirmed that DeSilva will be based in the company’s Bermuda office.
