RGA adds Stephen O’Hearn & Ng Keng Hooi to Board of Directors

Global life and health reinsurance company, Reinsurance Group of America (RGA), has increased its number of board directors to 12 with the additions of Stephen T. O’Hearn and Ng Keng Hooi.

Reinsurance Group of America logoO’Hearn, who most recently served as the Global Leader of PwC’s Insurance Practice from 2015 to 2020, will join on October 1st, 2020.

He spent the majority of his career at PwC, having served at the company for 38 years. During his time leading the firm’s global insurance unit, he also served on PwC’s extended global leadership team. In 2001, he moved to Tokyo with the PwC Insurance Practice, and in 2012, relocated to Switzerland to take on the role of Global Relationship Partner and Audit Partner for Zurich.

Following this, he took on the role of EMEA Insurance Leader in 2012, and leadership of PwC Global Insurance Practice in 2015. In 2018, he moved to Munich to serve as Global Relationship Partner for Allianz.

Keng Hooi most recently served as senior advisor to AIA Group Limited and was Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President of the firm from 2017 to 2020. He is expected to join the RGA Board of Directors in mid-2021, after the completion of a previous post-retirement commitment.

From 2010 to 2017, he worked as Regional Chief Executive at AIA, where he was responsible for the group’s business operations in China, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Brunei, as well as Group Agency Distribution.

He joined AIA from Great Eastern Holdings, Singapore, where he served as Group CEO between December 2008 and October 2010. Prior to this, he spent nearly two decades at Prudential, including as a member of Prudential Corporation Asia’s board and Regional Managing Director of Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. Keng Hooi also served as CEO of Prudential Malaysia.
