RiverStone International promotes Soutter to Group CRO

David Soutter, who joined RiverStone International last year as Head of Risk in Bermuda, has been promoted to Group Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at the global acquirer and reinsurer of legacy and discontinued business.

Soutter has more than 25 years of insurance and reinsurance market experience, with expertise across enterprise risk management, finance, capital oversight, regulatory engagement, and governance across highly regulated insurance environments.

He joined RiverStone in April 2025 from Zurich, where he held numerous senior leadership positions across the Group, including Chief Financial Officer of its Bermuda operations, and Project Director, Internal Reinsurance.

Currently, Soutter serves as Deputy Chair of the Insurance and Reinsurance Legacy Association (IRLA) Bermuda, and serves as Treasurer of the Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies.

In his new role, Soutter will report to Group Chief Executive Officer, Paul Brockman. who commented: “Since joining RiverStone International, David has made a significant contribution to the business and has quickly established himself as a trusted member of our experienced leadership team. His extensive expertise and deep understanding of risk, capital and regulatory matters make him ideally placed to lead our global Risk function. I look forward to continuing to work closely with David in his new role.”
