RKH Reinsurance Brokers (RKH RB), part of the global Hyperion Insurance Group, has appointed Dave Saxton from Steadfast Re to its London operations, according to reports from our sister site, Artemis.
The appointment will bring additional treaty, insurance-linked securities and collateralised broking expertise to RKH, and comes amid a wider treaty reinsurance and alternative capital based recruitment drive that has included the recent additions of Nick Griffiths, Mark Field and Norman Topche to the broking practice.
Saxton has 20 years’ experience in re/insurance industry and most recently served for two years as Head of London and as a reinsurance treaty broker at Steadfast Re.
Prior to this, he was a broker at Beach & Associates, where he led a team placing treaty business from multiple territories and across multiple classes of business, including Casualty, Property, and Terrorism.
Saxton began his career in the Lloyd’s insurance and reinsurance market in 1998 with a role in property treaty and direct & facultative underwriting at Euclidian Syndicate 1243.
Artemis suggested that the series of recent appointments will allow RKH RB to sit comfortably transacting with both the traditional and capital markets, both in reinsurance and retrocession.
It added that, as part of the Hyperion Insurance Group, the firm will likely be looking to these hires to drive growth across its reinsurance business, particularly given the recent shake-up in broking created by M&A deals such as Marsh and JLT.
