Global insurance and reinsurance broking group Howden has appointed Rohan Bhappu as Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Howden Asia, reporting to current CEO of the business, Goh Chye Huat, effective June 2025, based in Hong Kong.
Bhappu will become CEO of Howden Asia on October 1st, 2025, reporting to David Howden, CEO of Howden. At this time, Goh will succeed Mark Wood as Chairman of the region and of Private Wealth.
Wood will continue to lead Howden’s Global Specialty Practices.
Most recently, Bhappu served at rival broker Marsh McLennan, where he spent the last 22 years working in territories including the USA, India, Singapore, and Hong Kong. He was also the CEO of Marsh McLennan Hong Kong and Macau where he oversaw the integration of JLT further to its acquisition by the broker in 2019.
Previously, Bhappu also led sales for Marsh Asia and has experience running Mergers & Acquisitions practices, giving him an extensive and proven skill set to bring to his new role.

Bhappu joins Howden once he has fulfilled his contractual obligations to his current employer.
