TransRe, a reinsurance company wholly owned by Alleghany Corporation, has appointed Rory Buckingham as AVP, Accident & Health Manager.
Buckingham brings almost a decade of relevant experience to his new role, having spent three years at TransRe .
He joined the reinsurer in 2020 as an Accident & Health Underwriter, a role he held for a year and a half before being appointed Senior Underwriter A&H, K&R and Terrorism prior to his new role.
Buckingham has also held roles at Swiss Re, where he spent over two years, and StarStone Insurance, where he held a couple of positions from 2013 to 2017.
TransRe’s credit ratings have been recently upgraded and removed from under review by credit rating agency AM Best.
Before the upgrades, the company’s credit ratings had been previously placed under review with positive implications following the completion of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.’s acquisition of Alleghany, which took place in October 2022.
