RSA Insurance has announced the appointment of Dr. Graeme Smith as its Commercial Lines Chief Underwriting Officer, effective from 18th September 2023.
For the new role, Dr. Smith will report to Nathalie Dufresne, Chief Underwriting Officer UK & International at RSA.
Dr. Smith’s remit will include overseeing all underwriting activities and portfolio management for RSA’s commercial lines business.
Dr. Smith most recently served as the Finance Risk Director for RSA’s UK & International business, having begun his career at the firm as an Actuarial Trainee almost two decades ago.
He has since worked in various senior roles and regions, including Head of Actuarial in Italy, Head of Solvency II in Ireland and Head of Model Validation & Capital Risk, UK&I.
Dufresne commented on the appointment, “We have a very strong commercial lines business that’s performing well and which we have ambitious plans for.
