Reinsurance Solutions Intermediary Services (RSIS), the recently launched subsidiary of African reinsurance broking group Reinsurance Solutions Group, has announced the appointment of Blessing Chiguye as Regional Head for Southern Africa.
Launched in August 2020, RSIS provides niche reinsurance and insurance solutions to clients operating in Southern Africa, with a focus on those in the English- and Portuguese-speaking markets.
In his role as Regional Head, Blessing will focus on business development in the Southern African and Lusophone countries, acting as the primary contact point for the firm’s existing and new clients in these markets.
He joins the South African team from the Reinsurance Solutions head-office in Mauritius.
Blessing has extensive knowledge of the African reinsurance and insurance markets, specifically treaty design and structuring, and facultative reinsurance placements.
Based in Woodmead, Johannesburg, RSIS currently does business in a number of African countries, including Angola, Botswana, Cape Verde, eSwatini, Guinea-Bissau, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Sao Tome & Principe, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
It is partially-owned by Reinsurance Solutions Group, which is the largest independent African-owned reinsurance broking group on the continent, and which services Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands from its head office in Mauritius and other offices around Africa and in London.
