International specialty insurance firm Ryan Specialty has announced the appointment of Derek Pouliot to Chief Reserving Officer of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers (RSUM).
RSUM is Ryan Specialty’s suite of managing general underwriters and national programs, providing tailored insurance solutions for specific industries.
In his new role, Pouliot will oversee the valuation of underwriting results for all RSUM business, including portfolio analysis, risk modelling, early warning detection, and analytical claims data insights.

Pouliot brings over 16 years of industry experience to his new role. Before his promotion, he served as Senior Vice President, Chief Risk & Profitability Actuary for over five years.
Prior to that, he was the Chief Actuary at FBD Insurance and spent nearly 10 years at Liberty Mutual Insurance in various management positions, most recently serving as a Pricing Manager.
