Samantha Smithson-Biggs to lead MS Amlin Operational Transformation team

Lloyd’s global insurer and reinsurer MS Amlin has announced the appointment of Samantha Smithson-Biggs as Head of Operational Transformation.

ms-amlin-logoIn her new role she will help MS Amlin to further improve its technology and services, to ensure the company continues to deliver for brokers and clients.

Smithson-Biggs is joining the firm following three years as Chief Operating Officer at Digital Futures, a UK start up that trains and deploys individuals from underrepresented backgrounds into a career in technology.

Prior to that, the executive worked in financial services, including JP Morgan, RBS and Aviva where she led major transformational programmes.

Commenting on her appointment, Smithson-Bigg said: “I am absolutely delighted to join this amazing business, and excited for the journey ahead!”

MS Amlin has also recently hired Catherine Healy from HDI Global Specialty as Head of Property & Crisis Management Claims.

Based in London, she manages and oversees claims for commercial property, property binders, transportation and crisis management.

Last month, the re/insurer appointed Sam Geddes as Head of Reinsurance. He has been tasked with leading MS Amlin’s extensive reinsurance teams.
